# 📧 How to Connect a Zoho Mailbox to PodPitch

# How to Connect a Zoho Mailbox to PodPitch

You can connect a Zoho mailbox for outreach when the mailbox is allowed to use IMAP and SMTP. The authentication steps come from Zoho; the product only stores the authorized connection.

## Before you connect

Confirm all of the following in Zoho:

- IMAP access is enabled for the mailbox and included in your Zoho plan.
- You can sign in with the full email address.
- If multi-factor authentication is enabled, you have created an app-specific password for this connection.
- Your administrator has not disabled third-party mail clients or SMTP access.
- You know which Zoho data center hosts the mailbox.

Zoho server names can vary by data center and organization. Use the incoming and outgoing server values shown in your own Zoho account or Zoho's current documentation. Do not copy another customer's settings.

Common Zoho Mail settings for accounts hosted in the United States are:

- IMAP: `imap.zoho.com`, port `993`, SSL/TLS
- SMTP: `smtp.zoho.com`, port `465` with SSL/TLS or port `587` with STARTTLS
- Username: your complete Zoho email address

Use these values only if they match the settings Zoho provides for your mailbox.

## Connect in PodPitch

1. Open **Email Addresses**.
2. Choose the option to connect another email.
3. Select the custom or IMAP/SMTP connection when Zoho is not shown as a direct option.
4. Enter the exact Zoho server settings and full email address.
5. Use the app-specific password when Zoho requires one.
6. Complete the connection and confirm that the mailbox shows as connected.

## Test the connection

1. Send a test message from the connected mailbox.
2. Confirm that it appears in the mailbox's Sent folder.
3. Reply from an external address and confirm that replies reach the connected inbox.
4. Check that SPF, DKIM, and DMARC pass for the sending domain.

A successful server connection does not by itself prove that DNS authentication or deliverability is healthy.

## Troubleshooting

- **Authentication failed:** confirm the full email address, app-specific password, and Zoho's third-party client permissions.
- **Connection timed out:** recheck the server name, port, encryption type, firewall, and VPN.
- **Sending works but receiving does not:** review IMAP access and the domain's MX records.
- **Receiving works but sending does not:** review SMTP access, the SMTP host and port, and provider security blocks.
- **The mailbox connects but messages fail authentication:** review SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and domain alignment.

## Need help?

Message Support through your PodPitch dashboard and include the product name, a screenshot of the error, the Zoho data center or server names you used, and whether multi-factor authentication is enabled. Never send your password or app-specific password in chat.
