# ⚙️ How to Create and Manage PodPitch Workflows

# How to Create and Manage PodPitch Workflows

PodPitch workflows automate a repeatable action after a specific event. For example, a workflow can add a new Monitor match to an eligible campaign or help organize replies in your inbox.

## Start from the feature that creates the trigger

Workflows are configured from the part of PodPitch that produces the event:

* **Monitor alerts:** open the alert you want to automate.
* **Inbox or reply events:** open the relevant Inbox settings.
* **Campaign-related actions:** open the campaign or workflow area shown in your dashboard.

The options you see depend on your plan, permissions, and the type of trigger.

## Create a workflow

1. Open the alert, inbox setting, or campaign area that will create the trigger.
2. Select **Create Workflow**, **Add Action**, or the workflow option shown.
3. Choose the event that starts the workflow.
4. Choose what PodPitch should do next.
5. Select the destination campaign, list, or inbox setting when prompted.
6. Review the summary carefully.
7. Save the workflow.
8. Test it with a low-risk example before relying on it for live outreach.

## Before adding matches to a campaign

Confirm that:

* the campaign is active and uses the correct profile;
* the campaign supports the media type returned by the trigger;
* targeting and exclusions are accurate;
* a connected email is active; and
* the account has enough available pitch capacity.

When a workflow adds a contact or outlet to an OmniCampaign, PodPitch uses the campaign's existing media channels, targeting, profile, email, and pitch settings.

## Review workflow results

After saving a workflow:

1. open the workflow or its source alert;
2. review its recent activity;
3. confirm that the expected matches or messages were processed; and
4. correct the trigger or destination if the results are too broad.

A workflow automates an action, but it does not guarantee that every match is relevant. Continue reviewing results and adjusting targeting.

## Edit, pause, or remove a workflow

1. Return to the alert, inbox setting, or workflow area where it was created.
2. Open the workflow.
3. Edit the trigger, action, or destination as needed.
4. Pause the workflow when you want to stop future actions without losing the setup.
5. Remove it only when you no longer need the workflow.

Pausing a workflow does not undo actions that already occurred.

## Troubleshooting

If a workflow is not running:

* confirm that it is active;
* confirm that its source alert or campaign is active;
* check that the destination still exists and is eligible;
* review connected email status and pitch capacity;
* confirm that the trigger actually occurred; and
* check the workflow activity for a clear error message.
