# 🚫 How to Manage Excluded Contacts Across Your Team

# How to Manage Excluded Contacts Across Your Team

Use **Excluded Contacts** when an email address should not receive outreach from any campaign on the team.

The setting applies team-wide across podcast, journalist, newsletter, and other eligible outreach. It is based on the contact's email address, not only the name of a podcast or outlet.

## Exclude a contact from Settings

1. Open **Settings**.
2. Select **Team**.
3. Find **Excluded Contacts**.
4. Add the email address you want to exclude.
5. Review the address carefully.
6. Save the change.

After the contact is excluded, PodPitch should prevent that email address from being pitched across the team's campaigns.

## Exclude a contact while reviewing outreach

When an available **Ban**, **Exclude**, or **Add to Excluded Contacts** action appears in search, a campaign, or a conversation:

1. confirm the email address;
2. choose the exclusion action;
3. select the team-wide option when prompted; and
4. confirm the result under **Settings → Team → Excluded Contacts**.

Labels can differ by screen, so verify whether the action is campaign-specific or team-wide before confirming.

## Search and sort the list

The Excluded Contacts list supports searching and sorting. Use it to:

- find an email address;
- review when it was added;
- sort long lists; and
- confirm whether a contact is already excluded.

The **Added** column shows when the exclusion was created.

## Restore a contact

1. Open **Settings → Team → Excluded Contacts**.
2. Search for the email address.
3. Select **Remove**.
4. Confirm the removal.

Removing the exclusion makes the email address eligible again. It does not automatically restore a previously skipped match or send an email.

## Team-wide exclusion versus campaign skip

- A **team-wide excluded contact** is blocked across every campaign.
- A **campaign skip or veto** removes the match from one campaign.
- A **negative targeting instruction** teaches PodPitch what kinds of matches to avoid but is not a hard email block.

Use the narrowest control that matches your goal.

## Important

Check the full email address before excluding it. Two people can work for the same outlet, and one person may use several addresses.

If a contact still appears after a team-wide exclusion, contact Support with the campaign, media type, and excluded email address.
