# How to Use PodPitch Monitor and Keyword Alerts

PodPitch Monitor watches for new media opportunities that match the topics you care about. An alert can notify you when fresh podcast, journalist, article, or newsletter matches appear.

## Create an alert from a campaign

During OmniCampaign creation, PodPitch can offer **Monitor these keywords** after you choose the campaign topics.

1. Review the suggested keywords.
2. Remove terms that are too broad.
3. Add important names, topics, companies, or phrases.
4. Turn on the Monitor alert.
5. Choose the notification schedule.
6. Confirm the alert.

The alert continues watching after the campaign is created.

## Create an alert from Monitor

1. Open **Monitor**.
2. Select **Create Alert**.
3. Enter the keywords or phrases to watch.
4. Choose the media types available for the alert.
5. Choose the notification schedule.
6. Set any workflow options shown.
7. Save the alert.

Use focused phrases rather than single broad words. For example, `B2B revenue operations` is more precise than `business`.

## Choose an email schedule

Each alert can use one of these email settings:

- **Every 12 hours** — the default.
- **Once a day**.
- **Never** — keep the alert without email digests.

PodPitch combines new results for an alert into one digest email for the selected interval. It does not send a separate digest email for every individual match.

## Review alert results

When an alert finds a new match:

1. Open the notification or Monitor.
2. Review the outlet, recent content, and match context.
3. Confirm it is relevant to the intended profile.
4. Add it to an eligible campaign or media list when appropriate.

An alert is a discovery tool. It does not guarantee that every match should be pitched.

## Add an alert action

Some alerts can trigger a workflow such as adding a new match to an active campaign.

Before enabling an automated action, confirm:

- the correct target campaign;
- compatible media types;
- accurate profile and targeting;
- an active email address; and
- enough pitch capacity.

## Edit, pause, or remove an alert

Open **Monitor**, select the alert, and use its settings to change the keywords, media types, email schedule, or workflow.

Pause or remove alerts that are too broad or no longer relevant.

When a campaign is deleted, PodPitch removes alerts associated with that campaign so they are not left behind as orphaned alerts.

## Troubleshooting

If a notification link does not open the expected record, open **Monitor** directly and locate the alert result. If results are irrelevant, narrow the keywords and review the selected media types.

Contact Support with the alert name, keyword, media type, notification schedule, and a screenshot when an alert or digest continues to fail.
