✨ What is Web Visitors?

Web Visitors helps you identify visitors to your website and generate personalized outreach based on their activity.

With Web Visitors you can:

βœ… Connect your website

βœ… Track visitor activity

βœ… Identify visitors and their companies (where available)

βœ… Generate personalized outreach

βœ… Create targeting rules for different visitor groups

βœ… Automate outreach using Smart Mode

πŸ’‘ Good to know: Not every website visitor can be identified. Visitor matching depends on factors like privacy settings, traffic source, and region.

πŸš€ Before you begin

Before creating a campaign, you'll need to:

βœ… Connect your website

βœ… Install the tracking script

βœ… Verify your website

Once your website has been verified, you can create a Web Visitors campaign.

🌐 Connect your website

  1. Open Web Visitors.
  2. Click Connect Website.
  3. Enter the website domain you own or manage (for example, example.com).
  4. Click Connect Website.

Your website will appear under Your Websites, where you can:

  • πŸ‘€ View verification status
  • πŸ”— Open tracking script instructions
  • 🎯 Assign a campaign
  • ❌ Remove the website

🧩 Install the tracking script

Each connected website receives its own PodPitch tracking script.

  2. Select Copy Script.
  3. Paste the script immediately before the closing </head> tag on every page you want to track.

The verification window also includes:

πŸ“– Platform-specific installation guides

πŸ“§ An option to email the instructions

πŸ“… A link to book implementation assistance

πŸ’‘ Tip: Install the tracking script on every page you want PodPitch to monitor.

  2. Choose the sender email address.
  3. Optionally customize your writing preferences.
  4. Give your campaign an internal name.
  5. Add up to three subject lines.
  6. Click Create Campaign.

PodPitch uses your answers to generate personalized outreach.

πŸ’‘ Creating a campaign does not automatically send emails. You remain in control of when outreach begins.

πŸ“Š Review visitor activity

The Web Visitors dashboard shows identified visitor activity.

Depending on the available data, you may see:

πŸ‘€ Visitor name

πŸ’Ό Company

🏒 Job title

πŸ“§ Email address

🌐 Website session details

πŸ“„ Pages viewed

πŸ”— Traffic source

πŸ•’ Last visit

🏷️ Applied tags

You'll also see website analytics including:

  • Visitors
  • Page views
  • Returning visitors
  • Top pages
  • Traffic sources
  • Devices

πŸ’‘ Visitor identification varies depending on traffic source, privacy settings, and geographic region.

βœ‰οΈ Review and manage pitches

Open the campaign's Pitches workspace to review generated outreach.

For each visitor, you can:

πŸ“€ Send now

πŸ“… Schedule for later

✏️ Edit emails

πŸ”„ Rewrite emails

πŸ“§ Send yourself a test email

πŸ“„ Apply templates

⏭️ Skip outreach

πŸ“œ Review email history

You can also choose your campaign mode:

πŸ”΄ Off

🟑 Manual

🟒 Smart (automated outreach)

The workspace also displays:

  • Daily sending limits
  • Campaign pacing
  • Pitch statuses
  • Reply tracking

✍️ Customize writing

Open:

Settings β†’ Writing Settings

Here you can:

πŸ“ Add custom writing instructions

πŸ“š Update your campaign brief

β€’ Choose bullet point usage

πŸ“ Set email length

Changes apply to future-generated outreach.

🎯 Create targeting rules

Targeting rules help organize visitors into groups.

To create one:

  1. Open Settings β†’ Targeting Settings
  2. Click Add Rule
  3. Create a tag
  4. Describe who should match
  5. Save the rule

Example:

🏷️ Enterprise

"Visitors from companies with more than 200 employees who viewed our pricing page."

Each rule displays:

  • Tag
  • Description
  • Number of matched visitors

πŸ’‘ Rules only apply to future visitorsβ€”they won't tag visitors already identified.

πŸ’¬ Customize outreach by audience

Each targeting rule can have its own messaging.

To customize:

  1. Open Targeting Settings
  2. Find the rule
  3. Select Set How Emails Are Written
  4. Complete the guided brief
  5. Save

Visitors matching that rule will receive messaging specific to that audience.

You can also enable:

⏭️ Skip pitching for these visitors

This allows visitors to remain tagged without receiving outreach.
