😱 What to Do If a Connected Email Is Suspended

What to Do If a Connected Email Is Suspended

An email suspension is imposed by the mailbox provider, not by PodPitch. Stop outreach from the affected mailbox until the provider confirms that it is active again.

A suspension is not always temporary or automatically reversible. The provider's notice and administrator console are the source of truth.

1. Read the provider's notice

Identify whether the issue is:

  • a user or mailbox suspension;
  • a sending restriction;
  • a security lock;
  • an authentication or app-access problem; or
  • a domain or billing problem.

Save the exact error and time it occurred. Do not repeatedly retry sending while the mailbox is restricted.

2. Ask the mailbox administrator to restore access

For Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho, or another managed provider, an administrator may need to review the user, security, and mail-flow settings. Follow the provider's official recovery process.

If the provider asks you to verify activity, complete that process honestly. Support cannot override a provider suspension.

3. Review the likely cause

Before reconnecting, review:

  • recent sending volume and provider limits;
  • bounce, complaint, and spam rates;
  • whether the mailbox or domain is new;
  • SPF, DKIM, and DMARC results;
  • password, app-password, OAuth, or administrator changes; and
  • any suspicious sign-in or account-security alert.

Do not assume a fixed percentage reduction will solve every suspension. Use the provider's instructions and reduce sending conservatively while reputation recovers.

Open Email Addresses, select the mailbox, and use Fix Now or Reconnect.

5. Test before resuming campaigns

  1. Send a normal one-to-one test from the mailbox.
  2. Send a product test message.
  3. Confirm that both appear in Sent.
  4. Confirm that replies sync.
  5. Review each affected campaign and its pending follow-ups.
  6. Resume outreach at a conservative level consistent with the provider's guidance.

Adding another mailbox does not repair the suspended mailbox and should not be used to evade a provider restriction.

Message Support through the applicable dashboard with the product name, provider, exact error, time of suspension, and a redacted screenshot. Never share passwords, app passwords, recovery codes, or private keys.
